Windows Vista has the feature to keep a list of your recently used programs. You can see the list in your start menu. If you want to clean up your PC by clearing the list, follow the steps listed below.
Clear the Recently Used Programs List in Your Start Menu
1. Right-click the Start button and select Properties.
2. Click the Customize button next to the Start menu.
3. Set the number of recently opened programs next to Start menu size in the Customize Start Menu window. If you want to clear everything, set the number to 0.
4. If you want to disable the start menu list, just uncheck Store and display a list of recently opened programs next to Privacy in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window.
