1. Open your Internet Explorer 8 browser.
2. Click on the Safety menu located on the far right-hand corner of your Internet Explorer 8 browser and then select Delete Browsing History.
3. You should now see your Delete Browsing History window. From this window, you can delete temporary internet files, cookies, history, form data, passwords or InPrivate Blocking Data. You also have the option to keep or not to keep favorite website data. The window can be divided into three parts. The first part involves temporary internet files, cookies and history.
The second part shows checkboxes for form data, passwords or InPrivate Blocking Data.
The last part gives you the option to either keep or not to keep favorite browsing data.
All options have details describing what they are about.
4. After making a careful selection of which boxes to check and information to delete, click the delete button.
5. You will then see a status window showing you the progress of the deletion of files. Wait for the process to complete.
6. You can also set Internet Explorer 8 to automatically delete browsing history each and every time you close the browser. To do this, go to the Tools menu on the far right-hand side of the browser next to the Safety menu. Click on Internet Options under Tools.
7. Once you are in the Internet Options window, look for the General tab and click it if it is not selected. Look for the checkbox that says “Delete browsing history on exit” under the Browsing history portion of the window and check it. Click on Apply.
